The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.102.17

अस्नेह एव सुघनस्नेहार्द्रहृदयो यथा ।
वत्सलां दर्शयन्वृत्तिं ज्ञस्तिष्ठति यथाक्रमम् ॥ १७ ॥

asneha eva sughanasnehārdrahṛdayo yathā |
vatsalāṃ darśayanvṛttiṃ jñastiṣṭhati yathākramam || 17 ||

Without the affection of the soul, they bear full affection for others in their hearts; and the wise man remains quite possessed of himself, with showing his paternal affection to all.
