The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शुष्कपल्लवसंकोचनिबिडाङ्गनिपीडनम् ।
अमर्षणैः करैरार्कैः स्वरसाकर्षणं क्वचित् ॥ १६ ॥

śuṣkapallavasaṃkocanibiḍāṅganipīḍanam |
amarṣaṇaiḥ karairārkaiḥ svarasākarṣaṇaṃ kvacit || 16 ||

I saw the raging sun darting his drying rays, and drawing the moisture of the shady trees; and leaving them to stand with their dried trunks, and their withered and leafless branches.
