The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

निर्वाणं वर्णयन्नज्ञस्ताप्यतेऽन्तर्न शाम्यति ।
कल्पनांशोपदेशेन लोकोऽविद्यामयात्मना ॥ ४८ ॥

nirvāṇaṃ varṇayannajñastāpyate'ntarna śāmyati |
kalpanāṃśopadeśena loko'vidyāmayātmanā || 48 ||

The ignorant man resorting to his nirvana, has more cause of regret than the peace of his mind, at his renunciation of the world; and the preaching of beau idéal serves rather to increase their ignorance, than enlighten in the path of truth.
