The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.22.33

कर्मकोशे त्रिकोणे च शुक्रसारेऽवतिष्ठते ।
देहे जीवोहमित्यात्मा स्वामोदः कुसुमे यथा ॥ ३३ ॥

karmakośe trikoṇe ca śukrasāre'vatiṣṭhate |
dehe jīvohamityātmā svāmodaḥ kusume yathā || 33 ||

The living soul is confined like a silkworm, in the cell of its own making Karma-Kosha, by acts of its past life, and resides with its egoism in the seed of its parents, as the floral fragrance dwells in the honey cups of flowers.
