The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अहंकारकलात्यागे समतायाः समुद्भवे ।
विशरारौ कृते चित्ते तुर्यावस्थोपतिष्ठते ॥ २७ ॥

ahaṃkārakalātyāge samatāyāḥ samudbhave |
viśarārau kṛte citte turyāvasthopatiṣṭhate || 27 ||

The evenness of the mind after subsidence of every jot of its egotism in it, like the setting of the turbid waters underneath, is the turya state of the insouciance of the soul.
