The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.85.130

सुखदुःखदशे यावदानीते नेन्द्रियैः शठैः ।
तावत्सुखसमः सौम्यो जीवस्तिष्ठति शान्तवत् ॥ १३० ॥

sukhaduḥkhadaśe yāvadānīte nendriyaiḥ śaṭhaiḥ |
tāvatsukhasamaḥ saumyo jīvastiṣṭhati śāntavat || 130 ||

As long as the deceptive senses, do not bring the false sensations of pain and pleasure unto the soul; so long does it rest in its state of sweet composure, and the calm tranquillity of the positive rest.
