The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अहंकारोपहतया बुद्ध्या या क्रियते क्रिया ।
विषवल्ल्या इव फलं तस्याः स्यान्मरणात्मकम् ॥ ४९ ॥

ahaṃkāropahatayā buddhyā yā kriyate kriyā |
viṣavallyā iva phalaṃ tasyāḥ syānmaraṇātmakam || 49 ||

Whatever action is done by one bewitched by egoism in his mind, the same grows up as a poisonous plant, and produces the fatal fruit of death.
