The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कौलेयककुटुम्बिन्यः पिण्याकपलवर्धिताः ।
इह बद्धा वरत्राभिर्मृतेभरदकाष्ठके ॥ ७ ॥

iha baddhā varatrābhirmṛtebharadakāṣṭhake || 7 ||

There was a pack of hounds, tied to the trunk of the withered Bharaeda tree, and fed with the rotten flesh of the putrid carcasses.
