The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तत्राभूद्ब्राह्मणः कश्चिद्गुणी गाधिरिति श्रुतः ।
परमश्रोत्रियो धीमान्धर्ममूर्तिरिव स्थितः ॥ ४ ॥

tatrābhūdbrāhmaṇaḥ kaścidguṇī gādhiriti śrutaḥ |
paramaśrotriyo dhīmāndharmamūrtiriva sthitaḥ || 4 ||

There lived a learned Brahman, known by the name of Gadhi;who was intelligent and versed in the Vedas, and remained as an image of virtue.
