The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ऐरावते क्षीणरवे पलायनपरायणे ।
प्रवृद्धे दानवानीके मध्याह्न इव भास्करे ॥ ४ ॥

airāvate kṣīṇarave palāyanaparāyaṇe |
pravṛddhe dānavānīke madhyāhna iva bhāskare || 4 ||

The Daityas waged their battle with the rage of the midday sun, and put to flight the Airavata elephant of Indra—the leader of the gods.
