The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.18.28

मृगतृष्णाजलभ्रान्तौ सत्यां कैव विदग्धता ।
विदग्धतायां सत्यां तु कैवासौ मृगतृष्णिका ॥ २८ ॥

mṛgatṛṣṇājalabhrāntau satyāṃ kaiva vidagdhatā |
vidagdhatāyāṃ satyāṃ tu kaivāsau mṛgatṛṣṇikā || 28 ||

As the looker on the clear sky does not see every part of it, and as the eye that looks on all others does not see itself; so we see everything about us besides ourselves.
