The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.98.4

अत्रार्थे कथ्यमानं मे चित्ताख्यानमनुत्तमम् ।
ब्रह्मणा यत्पुरा प्रोक्तं श्रृणु रामातियत्नतः ॥ ४ ॥

atrārthe kathyamānaṃ me cittākhyānamanuttamam |
brahmaṇā yatpurā proktaṃ śrṛṇu rāmātiyatnataḥ || 4 ||

On this subject there hangs a curious tale relating the legend of the heart, which was revealed to me of yore by Brahma himself; and which I will now relate to you Rama, if you will listen to it with attention.
