The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.98.3

चित्तायत्तमिदं सर्वं जगत्स्थिरचरात्मकम् ।
चित्ताधीनवतो राम बन्धमोक्षावपि स्फुटम् ॥ ३ ॥

cittāyattamidaṃ sarvaṃ jagatsthiracarātmakam |
cittādhīnavato rāma bandhamokṣāvapi sphuṭam || 3 ||

It is the province of the heart, to secure the sedateness of the world in itself; and it lies in the power of the heart, either to make its bondage or get its freedom, from the desires and troubles of the world.
