The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तज्जडानां परं विद्धि जडं येनोच्यते मनः ।
न चावगच्छति जडं मनो यस्य हि चेतनम् ॥ ६० ॥

tajjaḍānāṃ paraṃ viddhi jaḍaṃ yenocyate manaḥ |
na cāvagacchati jaḍaṃ mano yasya hi cetanam || 60 ||

Know him as the dullest of beings, who thinks the mind to be a dull material substance; and whose gross understanding cannot understand the nature of the Intellect.
