The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.89.39

याभिर्मनांक्त भिद्यन्ते दृष्टनिश्चयवन्त्यपि ।
वृद्धिमायातु वा देहो यातु वा विशरारुताम् ॥ ३९ ॥

yābhirmanāṃkta bhidyante dṛṣṭaniścayavantyapi |
vṛddhimāyātu vā deho yātu vā viśarārutām || 39 ||

The causes that conspire to ruffle the tenor of the resolute mind, are the erroneous conceptions of external appearances. It is better therefore to chastise such bodies which mislead the mind to error.
