The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.83.4

अद्यापि तत्र ये वध्यास्ते तदर्थं महीभुजा ।
नीयन्ते मित्रसन्माने के हि नाध्यवसायिनः ॥ ४ ॥

adyāpi tatra ye vadhyāste tadarthaṃ mahībhujā |
nīyante mitrasanmāne ke hi nādhyavasāyinaḥ || 4 ||

The practice continues still to be observed by the princes of the place, who conduct the animals to be sacrificed to her departed ghost on the hill; as none can be negligent to repay the good services of his benefactor.
