The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मार्गे कर्मफलोल्लासमतिदूरतरे स्थितम् ।
वैवस्वतपुरं प्राप जन्तुभिः परिवेष्टितम् ॥ ११ ॥

mārge karmaphalollāsamatidūratare sthitam |
vaivasvatapuraṃ prāpa jantubhiḥ pariveṣṭitam || 11 ||

After a long year's journey on the way, it reached at the distant abode of Yama, with the hope of reaping the reward of its acts; but found the gate fast beset by beasts of prey.
