The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.22.29

दृश्यासंभवबोधेन रागद्वेषादितानवे ।
रतिर्बलोदिता यासौ ब्रह्माभ्यास उदाहृतः ॥ २९ ॥

dṛśyāsaṃbhavabodhena rāgadveṣāditānave |
ratirbaloditā yāsau brahmābhyāsa udāhṛtaḥ || 29 ||

The strong tendency of the soul towards the spirit of God, which results from a knowledge of the nihility of visibles, and subsidence of the passions, is said to be the effect of the practice of Yoga.
