The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.20.48

देशकालक्रियाद्रव्यमनोबुद्धीन्द्रियादि च ।
झटित्येव मृतेरन्ते वपुः पश्यति यौवने ॥ ४८ ॥

deśakālakriyādravyamanobuddhīndriyādi ca |
jhaṭityeva mṛterante vapuḥ paśyati yauvane || 48 ||

It does not however remain long in this state, but enters a new body soon after its death, to which the properties of the mind and senses, are added afterwards in their proper times.
