The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

लीलोवाच ।
दृश्यते कारणात्कार्यं सुविलक्षणमम्बिके ।
अम्ब्वादातुमशक्ता मृद्धटस्तज्जस्तदास्पदम् ॥ १९ ॥

līlovāca |
dṛśyate kāraṇātkāryaṃ suvilakṣaṇamambike |
ambvādātumaśaktā mṛddhaṭastajjastadāspadam || 19 ||

Lila replied:—"But we often see, O goddess! dissimilar effects to be produced from similar causes: thus, the earth and earthen pot though similar in their substance, yet the one is seen to melt in water, and the other to carry water in it."
