Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वप्नसंकल्पपुरवदसत्सदनुभूयते ।
ब्रह्माकाशपराकाशे जीवाकाशत्वमात्मनि ॥ १६ ॥

svapnasaṃkalpapuravadasatsadanubhūyate |
brahmākāśaparākāśe jīvākāśatvamātmani || 16 ||

The unreal appears as real as a city seen in a dream, and as a castle built in air by our hopes: so we place the living soul in ourselves, which has its foundation in the vacuous spirit of God.
