The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.10.9

यथा न पुत्रिकाशून्यः स्तम्भोऽनुत्कीर्णपुत्रिकः ।
तथा भातं जगद्ब्रह्म तेन शून्य न तत्पदम् ॥ ९ ॥

yathā na putrikāśūnyaḥ stambho'nutkīrṇaputrikaḥ |
tathā bhātaṃ jagadbrahma tena śūnya na tatpadam || 9 ||

As a pillar with carved or painted figures, cannot be said to be devoid of them; so Brahma exhibiting the worlds contained in him, can not become a void.
