The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दैन्यदारिद्र्यदुःखार्ता अप्यन्ये पुरुषोत्तमाः ।
पौरुषेणैव यत्नेन याता देवेन्द्रतुल्यताम् ॥ २७ ॥
dainyadāridryaduḥkhārtā apyanye puruṣottamāḥ |
pauruṣeṇaiva yatnena yātā devendratulyatām || 27 ||
Some among the best of men, who had been reduced to misery by their poverty and helplessness, have again risen to the eminence of Indra by exertion of their manhood.
