Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. स भीमसेनः सहितो यमाभ्यां वृकोदरो वीररथस्य गोप्ता ।
तं प्रेक्ष्य मत्तर्षभसिंहखेलं लोके महेन्द्रप्रतिमानकल्पम् ॥ १२ ॥

sa bhīmasenaḥ sahito yamābhyāṃ vṛkodaro vīrarathasya goptā |
taṃ prekṣya mattarṣabhasiṃhakhelaṃ loke mahendrapratimānakalpam || 12 ||
