Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. अन्यस्मिन्प्रेष्यमाणे तु पुरस्ताद्यः समुत्पतेत् ।
अहं किं करवाणीति स राजवसतिं वसेत् ॥ ३८ ॥
