Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. वायुर्भूत्वा विक्षिपते च विश्वमग्निर्भूत्वा दहते विश्वरूपः ।
आपो भूत्वा मज्जयते च सर्वं ब्रह्मा भूत्वा सृजते विश्वसंघान् ॥ ३३ ॥

vāyurbhūtvā vikṣipate ca viśvamagnirbhūtvā dahate viśvarūpaḥ |
