Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. स तत्र काञ्चनं दिव्यं सर्वरत्नमयं गृहम् ।
ददर्शाद्भुतसंकाशं धनदस्य गृहाद्वरम् ॥ ३४ ॥

sa tatra kāñcanaṃ divyaṃ sarvaratnamayaṃ gṛham |
dadarśādbhutasaṃkāśaṃ dhanadasya gṛhādvaram || 34 ||
