Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. त्वत्तः कृशतरं किं नु ब्रवीतु भगवानिदम् ।
यदि गुह्यं न ते विप्र लोकेऽस्मिन्किं नु दुर्लभम् ॥ ३८ ॥

tvattaḥ kṛśataraṃ kiṃ nu bravītu bhagavānidam |
yadi guhyaṃ na te vipra loke'sminkiṃ nu durlabham || 38 ||
