Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. कर्णं त्वस्यन्तमस्त्राणि दिव्यानि च बहूनि च ।
कथमिन्द्रोपमं वीरं मृत्युर्युद्धे समस्पृशत् ॥ ६४ ॥
