Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततः कर्णस्तु विंशत्या शराणां भीममार्दयत् ।
विव्याध चास्य त्वरितः सूतं पञ्चभिराशुगैः ॥ १६ ॥

tataḥ karṇastu viṃśatyā śarāṇāṃ bhīmamārdayat |
vivyādha cāsya tvaritaḥ sūtaṃ pañcabhirāśugaiḥ || 16 ||
