Cidgaganacandrika 61 [Macrocosmic form of Amba], English comparative study extracted from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika. The Cidgagana-candrika is an important Tantric work belonging to the Krama system of Kashmir Shaivism. Written by Kalidasa (Shrivatsa) in 312 Sanskrit verses, it deals with the knowledge regarding both the Macrocosmic and Microcosmic phenomena

आस्थितः सदसदर्थमण्डलं घीमनोऽक्षवपुरस्मितामयः ।
यस्त्रयोदशविधः स्वतन्त्रता तद्द्वयोऽहमसौ तवांशकः ॥ ६१ ॥

āsthitaḥ sadasadarthamaṇḍalaṃ ghīmano'kṣavapurasmitāmayaḥ |
yastrayodaśavidhaḥ svatantratā taddvayo'hamasau tavāṃśakaḥ || 61 ||

[Macrocosmic form of Ambā]

She is in the state of Ānanda, (Blissful form) and shines through the action and inaction (Sat and Asat). She shines as thirteen types of independent elements viz Buddhi, Manas and Ahaṅkara and the ten Indriyas. She is the Jīvātma, shining as Sat and Asat (animate and inanimate). The “aham”, inaction (the Śāmbhava Visarga) and “asauḥ” (the Śakti visarga) action, are after her; that is, they are part and parcel of her self.[1]

Svatantratā is the “asauŚaktirupā-Ambā’s Dharma

The thirteen elements viz. Intellect, mind, and I–ness—Ahaṅkāra along with Karmendriyas and Jñānendriyas at the cosmic level function on their own, independently. It is the power of Śakti indicated by the dual terms aham and asau suffixed to I-ness of Śiva.[2] Śiva is the consumer and the consumed; observer and observed. Here both Ahantā and Idantā of Śiva (ahaṃ-asauḥ) shine as Dharma-Dharmi form of Absolute’s manifestation.
