The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Sulba-sutra with the commentaries of Kapardin, Karavinda and Sundararaja. The Sulbasutras are considered Vedic appendices and deals with the ancient Indian science of Mathematics and Geometry, by instructing the construction of fire-altars, among others. Sutra 20.7a

dvābhyām ardheṣṭakābhyāṃ yathāyogaṃ paryupadadhyāt || Sūtra _20.7a ||

tābhyāṃ paścādātmani ardheṣṭakāmātraṃ; śeṣaṃ śirasi /

abhito yujyate yathā tathopadadhyāt /
catasra etā viśayāḥ //

karavindīyā vyākhyā

cata -- yoḥ

pratyekaṃ catasraḥ //

pakṣā -- yāḥ

cakāreṇa pakṣāgrīyā anukṛṣyante /
pakṣāpyayayoḥ catasraścatasraḥ pakṣāgrīyā viśayāḥ syuḥ /
tāḥ saptamena pakṣayoḥ śerate /
avaśiṣṭe caturthenātmani //

ātmani praviṣṭapakṣāgrīyāparitaścatasṛbhiḥ ṣoḍaśībhirḥ yathā yujyante tathopadadhyāt /
pakṣāgrīyāṇāṃ ca yathā viśeṣāḥsahitā bhaveyustathopadadhyādityarthaḥ //

antyā -- rasaḥ

ante upadheyā antyāḥ / pucche catasraḥ ātmani catasra / bāhyaviśeṣāḥ -- bahirgataviśeṣāḥ / na cātra saṃkhyāpūraṇaṃ; saṃkhyāḥ yāḥsthāne dviśataviniyogāt /

tathāhi -- ṣaṭpañcāśat pādeṣṭakāḥ -- aṣṭāvaṣṭau pakṣāgrīyāsvatvāriṃśaccatvāriṃśatpakṣeṣṭakāḥ /

pakṣamadhyīyāśvatvāriṃśat ṣoḍaśyaḥ /
evaṃ dviśataḥ //

dvitīye prastāre śirasaḥ pūrvabhāge prāgagre bāhyaviśeṣe dve ṣoḍaśyau //

te -- ṣe

tayoḥṣoḍaśyoḥ paścāt prāgagre śirasyardhapādeṣṭakāmātre viśaye viśeṣeṇātmani /
evaṃ viśaye dve ṣoḍaśyāvantarviśeṣe //

dvābhyāṃ -- dhyāt

te ityeva /
te viśaye iṣṭake dvābhyāmardheṣṭakābhyāṃ viśayābhyāṃ yathāyogaṃ parigṛhṇīyāt /
ṣoḍaśyorardheṣṭakayoś ca yathā viśeṣāḥsaṃhitā bhaveyuḥ tathopadadhyādityarthaḥ //

sundararājīyā vyākhyā

tāsāmardheṣṭakāmātrāṇyātmani /

dakṣiṇāgrābhiḥ dakṣiṇāpyayasthā udīcīritarāḥ //

pakṣa -- dayet aśītyā prāgāyatābhiḥ //

ava -- dayet

aṇūkāḥ pañcadaśabhāgīyānāṃ sthāna iti vakṣyamāṇatvāt aṇūkābhiḥ saha pracchādanabhedaparihārāya tatra pucchātmaśiraḥsu pūrvanihitābhiḥ pādarītibhiḥsaha ṣoḍaśa rītayaḥ udīcyaḥ /
pucchāgre pādarītiruktā /
dvitīyasyāṃ pārśvayoraṇūke madhye catasraḥ ṣoḍaśyaḥ /
evaṃ tṛtīyāṣaṣṭhītrayodaśyo'ṇūkābhireva dviprakārābhiḥ sandhyantarāle dvādaśa ṣoḍaśyaḥ pragāyatāḥ śiraso'parārdhe dve ṣoḍaśyau dviśataḥ prastāraḥ //

antyā -- śirasaḥ ca śabdo'trādhyāhartavyaḥ / dvābhyāṃ viśeṣāḥ / anteṣu upadheyāstā bāhyaviśeṣāḥ ṣoḍaśyo bhaveyuḥ / etaccātmanyeva / pakṣayoraśakyatvāt pucchabhedasambhavācca / tasmādātmanaḥ śroṇyaṃseṣvaṣṭau ṣoḍaśīrdakṣi (ṇāgrā) ṇā udagagrāścopadadhyāt / ekaikatra dvedve / asmin pakṣe yaccaturaśraṃ tryaśri veti vakṣyamāṇābhiḥ pādyābhiḥ saṃkhyāpūraṇaṃ / tatra pucchāpyayasya purastāddve ardhe śiraso'pyayasya paścāddve ardhe / tāsāṃ madhye caturviśatiḥ pādyāḥ / pārśvayoḥ ṣaṭ ṣaṭ ṣoḍaśyaḥ / yadvā etāḥ pādyāḥ ṣoḍaśīśvaḥ ṣaṭtriṃśatamuddhṛtya ṣaṭtriṃśadar (dhyār) dhā nidheyāḥ / tatra dakṣiṇapārśvasthā prāguttaraviśeṣāḥ viparītā
