This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 102.8

यं पि च ते जातमात्र उदुपाना उद्गमे उदकधारा ।
उष्णा च शीतला च दशशतरस्मिसगोत्र तं प्रियं मे ॥ ८ ॥

yaṃ pi ca te jātamātra udupānā udgame udakadhārā |
uṣṇā ca śītalā ca daśaśatarasmisagotra taṃ priyaṃ me || 8 ||

Glad am I, O kinsman of the sun, that as soon as thou wast born there sprang up two wells of water, the one warm and the other cold. (8)
