This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 85.15

यं च माषं देवो दद्यात् तं द्वितीयं भविष्यति ।
एतेहि द्वीहि माषेहि तुष्टा सा वृषली भवे ॥ १५ ॥

yaṃ ca māṣaṃ devo dadyāt taṃ dvitīyaṃ bhaviṣyati |
etehi dvīhi māṣehi tuṣṭā sā vṛṣalī bhave || 15 ||

If your majesty gives me a penny, that will make it two. With these two pennies my foor woman will be happy. (15)
