This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 51.11

निषीद वा तिष्ठहि त्वं व नागि ।
गच्छाहि वा ताव स्वकं निवेशनं ।
यावद्मि दूता गतो नीयतां ति ।
अन्वेषिसुः नागनृपं यशस्विनं ॥ ११ ॥

niṣīda vā tiṣṭhahi tvaṃ va nāgi |
gacchāhi vā tāva svakaṃ niveśanaṃ |
yāvadmi dūtā gato nīyatāṃ ti |
anveṣisuḥ nāganṛpaṃ yaśasvinaṃ || 11 ||

Be seated or stand, O Naga maid, or go to your own home, until the messengers whom I’ll bid to go and fetch him, shall find your glorious Naga mate. (11)
