This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 37.58

हिरीयमस्मि मनुजान सम्मता अक्षुद्रसत्त्वप्रतिसेविनी सदा ।
सुखेषिणी तुह्य सकाशम् आगता न तु त्वां शक्रोमि महर्षि याचितुं ॥ ५८ ॥

hirīyamasmi manujāna sammatā akṣudrasattvapratisevinī sadā |
sukheṣiṇī tuhya sakāśam āgatā na tu tvāṃ śakromi maharṣi yācituṃ || 58 ||

“I am Honour, revered of men, ever serving men of high degree. I am come into your presence to seek ambrosia. Yet I can not, mighty seer, ask it of you.” (58)
