Nitiprakasika (Critical Analysis)

by S. Anusha | 2016 | 34,012 words

Summary: This is an English study of the Nitiprakasika by Vaisampayana: a Sanskrit text dealing with Dhanurveda, i.e., the science of war, weapons and military strategies of ancient Indian society, as wella as Niti-shastra (politics and state administration) . Although the Nitiprakashika illuminates the science of polity, most verses deal with the description of different varieties of weapons, based on the four groups of Mukta, Amukta, Muktamukta and Mantramukta.

Alternative titles: Vaiśampāyana Nītiprakāśikā (वैशम्पायन नीतिप्रकाशिका), Vaisampayana.
