तत्रास्त्यरण्यं विदितं मुक्तं तृणवनादिभिः ।
त्यक्ततेजस्तमोभ्रादिभूमाविव नभस्तलम् ॥ १२ ॥

tatrāstyaraṇyaṃ viditaṃ muktaṃ tṛṇavanādibhiḥ |
tyaktatejastamobhrādibhūmāviva nabhastalam || 12 ||

There I found a desert, which was devoid of grassy pastures and woody trees; and where the light of the sun and the shade of night, reigned by turns, as it was the open sky on earth.
