या कथावगतात्मभ्यां शब्दार्थाभ्यां निगद्यते ।
बुध्यते सेतरा नान्तः सैवेह व्यवहारिणी ॥ ३ ॥

yā kathāvagatātmabhyāṃ śabdārthābhyāṃ nigadyate |
budhyate setarā nāntaḥ saiveha vyavahāriṇī || 3 ||

The words which are spoken by the wise, who know their application and sense; are neither understood nor received in the hearts of common people, though they are in common use.
