The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.171.31

तस्य भासा विभातीदं तदहो दृश्यमण्डलम् ।
सर्वचन्द्रार्कवह्नीनां पदार्थानां स दीपकः ॥ ३१ ॥

tasya bhāsā vibhātīdaṃ tadaho dṛśyamaṇḍalam |
sarvacandrārkavahnīnāṃ padārthānāṃ sa dīpakaḥ || 31 ||

It is his lustre, that enlightens this visible (the mundane) sphere; and it is he alone that is the enlightener of the sun, moon, and stars and fire as also of all other shining bodies, that shine with their borrowed light from him.
