The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

काकतालीयवत्साधो केषुचिद्दुष्टकर्मसु ।
समं पतति दुःखादि पादपेष्वशनिर्यथा ॥ २२ ॥

kākatālīyavatsādho keṣucidduṣṭakarmasu |
samaṃ patati duḥkhādi pādapeṣvaśaniryathā || 22 ||

It is possible, O good soul! that there are many persons living together, [who] are equally guilty of some crime at the same time; who wait on their simultaneous punishment, falling as the fire of heaven on a forest at the same time.
