The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.81.56

अत्यजन्तः समुद्राश्च मर्यादामुद्रणं द्रुमाः ।
भूमेर्नभस्तलं यान्ति नभसो यान्ति भूतलम् ॥ ५६ ॥

atyajantaḥ samudrāśca maryādāmudraṇaṃ drumāḥ |
bhūmernabhastalaṃ yānti nabhaso yānti bhūtalam || 56 ||

The high-swelling seas were heaving their waves to heaven, bearing with them the uprooted woods of the coasts on high, and again hurling them down, and sinking them in the waters below.
