The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.66.18

ससुरासुरगन्धर्वाः कालः कलयति प्रजाः ।
दोर्भिः कल्पयुगाब्दैश्च स्वपशूनिव पालकः ॥ १८ ॥

sasurāsuragandharvāḥ kālaḥ kalayati prajāḥ |
dorbhiḥ kalpayugābdaiśca svapaśūniva pālakaḥ || 18 ||

Time said:—the greatest slaughterer, destroys the gods, giants, gandharvas and all, with its many arms of ages and yugas, and of years, months, days and nights, as a herdsman kills his cattle, which he has reared up himself.
