The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शुक्तिकारूप्यसदृशं प्रेक्षितं यन्न लभ्यते ।
अर्थकार्यपि तन्नास्ति किमत्रापह्नवेन च ॥ १२ ॥

śuktikārūpyasadṛśaṃ prekṣitaṃ yanna labhyate |
arthakāryapi tannāsti kimatrāpahnavena ca || 12 ||

The pearl-shell looks like a silver, which is not likely to be realized from it; it is of no use or value, why then do you deceive yourself, with such like baubles of the world?
