The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.19.12

स्वप्नस्वावयवान्यत्वसदृशीं तां विभावयन् ।
विस्मृत्य चेतनां सत्तां तत्तामेवाशु गच्छति ॥ १२ ॥

svapnasvāvayavānyatvasadṛśīṃ tāṃ vibhāvayan |
vismṛtya cetanāṃ sattāṃ tattāmevāśu gacchati || 12 ||

And as one finds in its mind his features and the members of his body, to another form in his dream; so the soul forgets her intellectual entity in her state of ignorance, and becomes of the same nature and form, as she constantly thinks upon.
