The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.126.54

कर्तव्यमाचरन्काममकर्तव्यमनाचरन् ।
तिष्ठति प्राकृताचारो यः स आर्य इति स्मृतः ॥ ५४ ॥

kartavyamācarankāmamakartavyamanācaran |
tiṣṭhati prākṛtācāro yaḥ sa ārya iti smṛtaḥ || 54 ||

He is reckoned a venerable man, who is employed in all honorable deeds, and refrains from what is dishonourable, who is steadfast in the discharge of all his social duties, whether they are of the ordinary kind or occasional ones.
