The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.125.9

संवेदनीयं न सुखं नासुखं न च मध्यमम् ।
एतावतात्मयत्नेन दुःखान्तोऽनन्त आप्यते ॥ ९ ॥

saṃvedanīyaṃ na sukhaṃ nāsukhaṃ na ca madhyamam |
etāvatātmayatnena duḥkhānto'nanta āpyate || 9 ||

The objective is neither for our pleasure or pain, nor is it the intermediate state of the two; therefore it is by diligent attention to the subjective, that we can attain the end of all our misery.
