The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.55.33

अपि स्फुटति विन्ध्याद्रौ वाति वा प्रलयानिले ।
पौरुषं हि यथाशास्त्रमतस्त्याज्यं न धीमता ॥ ३३ ॥

api sphuṭati vindhyādrau vāti vā pralayānile |
pauruṣaṃ hi yathāśāstramatastyājyaṃ na dhīmatā || 33 ||

Whether a man is exposed on the barren rock of Vindhya, or blown and borne away by the winds, he is yet supported by his manhood;therefore the wise man should never decline to discharge the legal duties, that are required of him at all times.
