The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.55.32

य एव पुरुषार्थेन दृष्टो बलवता क्षणात् ।
पूर्वोत्तरविशेषांशः स एव जयति स्फुटम् ॥ ३२ ॥

ya eva puruṣārthena dṛṣṭo balavatā kṣaṇāt |
pūrvottaraviśeṣāṃśaḥ sa eva jayati sphuṭam || 32 ||

Whatever is pursued with ardent exertion and diligence for a while, the same in particular is gained among all other objects of one's former and future pursuit (which are reckoned under the four predicaments.
