The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.30.101

हंसी क्रौञ्ची बकी काकी सारसी तुरगी वृकी ।
बकी बलाका हरिणी वानरी किन्नरी शुनी ॥ १०१ ॥

haṃsī krauñcī bakī kākī sārasī turagī vṛkī |
bakī balākā hariṇī vānarī kinnarī śunī || 101 ||

The intellect stretches itself in the various forms of ducks and geese, of cranes and crows, of storks, wolves and horses also; it becomes the heron and partridge, the parrot, the dog, the stag, the ape and Kinnara likewise.
